The Hellenic Mountaineering Club of Sparta was founded in 1937 by mountaineers and nature lovers of Sparta with previous participation in the Sparta Excursion Club and in Outdoor Life - Sparta Club. Its first statute was recognized with no. only 590/1937 decision of the Court of First Instance of Sparta. In 1977, on demand of the new sports legislation (N 75/1975) and with the creation of the Hellenic Federation Skiing - Mountaineering as a secondary co-sponsor organization, EOS Club of Sparta modifies it its statute and is renamed Hellenic Mountaineering Club of Sparta, This amendment was recognized under no 145/1977 decision of the Multi-member Court of First Instance of Sparta. After deciding the new provisions by the General Assembly of January 18, 1995, the lengthy procedures for the revision of the status of the Club of Sparta in order to respond to the organized sports and pro-environmental activities of the Association. The Board of Directors Expressing the satisfaction to the working group that edited the status proposal and the rich and substantial process, delivers with a sense of responsibility the new statute wishing and hoping that it will be a constitute starting point of a new era of activity for the Association.
